Emotional Freedom Technique – Tapping
This page is a basic introduction to EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), sometimes called meridian tapping, or just tapping.
Tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a form of psychological acupressure, based on the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture.
Simple tapping with the fingertips is used to input kinetic energy onto specific meridians on the head and chest while you think about your specific problem and voice affirmations.
The combination of tapping the energy meridians and voicing positive affirmation works to clear the charge or “short-circuit” emotional or physical blocks, thus restoring your mind and body’s balance. It’s like a reboot for your system!
This powerful technique has a wide use spectrum. As a self-help tool, EFT is easy to learn and flexible enough to be used by anyone. At the other end of the spectrum, skilled practitioners are successfully using EFT with trauma victims who have found limited relief through other modalities.
Who can benefit?
In my work I’ve come to see that almost anyone can benefit from learning EFT Tapping. If you, or someone you know, feels stressed, stuck, or just tired of being sick and tired, this tool is worth considering. Tapping can help with both emotional issues like fear of flying, anger and anxiety and physical pain or body related issues.

Demonstration of Basic EFT:
Check out the two informational YouTube videos featuring Master EFT Trainer Betty Moore-Hafter from Creative EFT. I have trained with Betty and consider her my mentor; I have great respect for the work she does. This is a very good basic introduction of the Emotional Freedom Technique in action. She goes through all the pressure points and demonstrates going through the sequence of points around a common issue. It is well worth a few minutes of your time.
